Gerald Lavish Obituary

Lavish, Gerald "Jerry" 78 of Matteson, passed away Oct. 14th at St. James Hospital. He is survived by his beautiful wife Dorita "Dee" (nee Holder), daughter Kelly (Tony) Maines, step-children Catherine (Michael) McDade, Christopher (Leisa) Pasco, Jr and Jeffrey Pasco. He was "Poppa" to Ethan and Brandon McDade and "Grandpa Jerry" to Timothy, Matthew, William and Noah Pasco. Preceded by his parents Frank and Charlotte Lavish and his brother Robert. Jerry grew up in the Bucktown neighborhood, graduated from Phillips High School, served in the Army in Korea, was a 50 year member of Local 150 Operating Engineers, a member of Villa Park Masonic Lodge, an avid bowler, fisherman, traveler & philanthropist. He operated "Dutch Treat Charters" fishing on Lake Michigan for 30 years. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 19th at Heartland Memorial Center 7151 W. 183rd St., Tinley Park from 2:00PM until 9:00PM. Inurnment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery will be private. Memorial contributions may be directed to: St. Joseph's Indian School, Chamberlain, SD 57326.
