To the Fishman Family: Years ago -during the 30's, 40's, and 50's - my mother used to buy fabric from Fishman's - Harry himself waited on her. He was always attentive - and delighted in seeing that her three daughters had the best fabric and latest vogue designs. Harry 'gave' my mother the material for my wedding dress and Harry and his wife attended our wedding. What a delightful couple. I have always valued their generosity - stories of trips to the store - hours of talking and looking and buying - all are engraved in my memory. Gerald and I are about the same age and we probably spoke to each other through the years. His death is a great loss to the community. May his son keep up a long tradition of quality and personal integrity.

Gregg,
I just got back into town and was shocked to hear of your father's passing. Jerry was an exceptional person and always very fair with me in the 15 years I knew him. I also know he was an outstanding father & grandfather. My deepest condolences to you, your mom and your siblings.

Dear Adrienne & family,
We were so sorry to hear about Jerrry. You and Jerry have been such wonderful friends to my sister Carol and brother in law Art. We remember fondly the time we spent with you last year at their grandson Matthew's Bar Mitzvah.
We know the next days & months will be difficult but we are sure that you will take comfort in the many wonderful memories you have and in the wonderful family you shared.
We hope to get to see you on our next trip to Chicago.
All our love,

Dear Adrienne,
I was very sorry to hear today of Gerry's death. I was at a gathering today which was attended by many of Gerry's class mates from High School, of whom my late wife, Annette, z"l, was one, and their sorrow was pronounced. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem and not know sorrow again for many, many more years.

To the Entire Fishman, Greenspon, Rein, Katz, Palman, and other friends and relatives of Gerald Fishman:
It was with great sadness that we heard the news of his recent illness and passing. Jerry was always the smile in the room, the laughter in the conversation, and the loving and proud Grandfather, Dad, and Husband of a warm and sharing family. Although not related in any way, our family always felt Jerry and the entire Fishman clan were close relatives. We spent time at many family gatherings, and Jerry's warm embraces and cute stories made each one memorable. Due to distance we cannot attend tomorrow's services, but please know our hearts and kind thoughts will be with your family at this difficult time. We will miss you Jerry, but we will never forget the many times you blessed our lives and for the sunshine you brought each and every day.
Love and condolences to all,
David, Tali, and Ellie Greenspon

Dear Adrienne--It is so difficult to convey my feelings to you at a time like this, however, I want you to know that you always had good taste, but in Jerry you chose a gem. He has always been there for everyone, including our mom and dad. He was so kind and considerate. Kenny and I recently had a conversation over lunch in which Kenny quoted from the Midrash. He said he remembered reading that "Life is like a scroll and that we should write down every day only what we wish to be remembered." Adrienne --Jerry wrote a perfect scroll and we will love and miss him forever. I love you and Janie loves you and we will always be there for you and your family. Bob
