Memories fill my mind. Wood crackling in the hearth, Vinnie trying to settle on the back of the sofa and Wilson having finally decided that I belonged so he lay on the rug between our feet. Sharing Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, I was so thrilled and so happy I sang my way through the whole show quite forgetting, I have a none - musical voice. Jerry didn't worry and when I apologised he said to me " Would you criticise the voice of a 5-year-old playing happily and singing to herself" He knew I had just learned my son was in remission and that and the best show I have ever seen went totally to my head. The last thing Jerry did for me was to try to ensure that I was safe from being broken by well-meaning people making decisions on my behalf that he felt were not safe for me.
So many sides all different all thoughtful and caring. Such a terrible loss.
He was so worried that he was spending too much time in the hospital when he felt so many depended on him.
He was so grateful that Jamie helped him every day and so proud of her behaviour and I know deeply loved her as well as admiring her abilities.
He so deeply loved all his family, especially the younger members.
He will be missed so badly by so many.
Goodnight Jerry. Thank you for everything. Love Always Sheila

I have such fond memories of the great birthday parties and fun times around the Adelman house. I was always grateful for the job he gave me in college. I experienced more of the love he had for his family and learned a lot about the business world. My condolences to the family, may his memory be for a blessing.

My father passed away May 23rd. He lived a life of dedication, perseverance, and determination. Never quit. Only positive.
My father opened his heart, his joy, and his wisdom to those he met. Like a flower my father bloomed the more he lived. As his petals opened he loved, was loved, and grew. Dad, I will miss you greatly.

Jerry lived life loudly, in word and in deed. I recall seeing him on the earliest Northwestern train out of Hubbard Woods. I was going to work out, he was just going to work. He was often on the 5:35 p.m. train back north, to go out with his kids on bicycles for ice cream. When my mother passed away in St. Louis we purposely did not announce her death in Chicago; virtually no one here knew her and having gone through the grieving and rituals in St. Louis i was ready to start to regain some normalcy in life. Jerry somehow found out. He called me and said that he understood
and respected what I was doing, but that he really wanted to come and sit with me for five minutes so that I could tell him a little about her. And he was true to his word.
I understand that people had various feelings about Jerry, but I remember him as a mensch.

Am very sad to hear about the death of this always smiling guy and high school bud. When the rest of us were screwing around, Jerry and his brother were working in their grass-cutting business. An extraordinary pair they were. Very fondly remembered, RIP Jer.

So sorry to read of the passing of a fellow SSHS graduate. Jerry was always an entrepreneurial guy starting with his grass cutting business and exceptionally outgoing. We lost touch as we aged but was glad to reconnect at SSHS reunions. I'm sure Jerry will be missed by many. RIP.
