Russell, George Edward age 42, beloved son of the late John Russell Sr. and Mattie Russell (nee Williams) of Chicago, IL, passed away suddenly in Phoenix, AZ, on Wednesday, December 14, 2005. George was affectionately known as "Tank" by all who knew him well. After graduating from Dusable High School in 1981, George was accepted to Michigan State University on a full scholarship. George later returned to Chicago and worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company for a brief period. Several years later, George moved to Chandler, AZ, where he was employed by Walmart, while also being enrolled as a full-time student at Arizona State University majoring in electrical engineering. George is survived by nine sisters, Katherine Green (Earvin), Beatrice Gray, Mae Russell, Elizabeth Mack, Mattie Russell, Yvonne Russell-Lee (Eddie), Lavetta Russell-Foster (Stanley), Wanda Davis (Anthony) and Lori McLemore (Charles), two brothers, John Russell Jr. and Kevin Russell, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives. Arrangements and direction entrusted to Cage Memorial Chapel, 7651 S. Jeffery Blvd. Services are Tuesday, December 27, 2005, 12:30 p.m. Visitation followed by 1:30 p.m. Funeral.
