George Overton Obituary

Overton Jr., George Washington died June 15, 2004, at age 86. A resident of Chicago's Hyde Park, he retired from legal practice at Wildman, Harrold, Allen & Dixon in September, 2003. Mr. Overton was raised in Geneva, IL, attended Kent School in Milford, CN, and Harvard University. He served in the OSS during WWII, and completed legal education at the University of Chicago in 1948. Mr. Overton distinguished himself in continuous series of efforts on behalf of legal profession as well as many nonprofit civic organizations. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jane Harper Overton; two sisters, Catherine Overton and Jean Wyatt; three children, Samuel Harper Overton, Ann Vincent Overton and Peter Darlington Overton; and two grandchildren, Ryan Gon Overton and Jolyn Suh Overton. All live in the Chicago area except the children, Peter and Ann Overton and the grandchildren, who reside in Berkeley, CA.
