George O'Connell Obituary

O'Connell O.S.M., Father George M. A Solemn Professed Friar and Preist of the Order of Friar Servants of Mary (Servites-United States of America Province), died Sunday, October 10th, at the Little Sisters of the Poor, Chicago. He was 91 years of age and a Preist for 67 years. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews, dear brother of the late Daniel, the late William, the late Marie (Regan), the late Evelyn (Bidwill) and the late Catherine, also loving son of the late Alfred and Mary (Wallace). Visitation Tuesday, October 12th, from 3 to 9 p.m., with a wake service 7 p.m., at Little Sisters of the Poor, 2325 N. Lakewood Ave., Chicago, (773-935-9600). Mass of Resurrection Wednesday, October 13, 2004, 10 a.m., with a viewing from 9 till 10 a.m., at Assumption Church, 323 W. Illinois St., Chicago, (312-644-0036). Interment Servite Section Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Servite Friars-U.S.A. Province, 3121 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago, IL, 60612. Arrangements by: Ahern Funeral Home, 708-383-5700.
