George Lowe Obituary

George Wayne Lowe 1947 ~ 2004  George Wayne Lowe of Round Rock, Texas was suddenly taken from this life by an automobile accident on May 3, 2004. His happy manner, caring spirit, and helpful attitude remain in the memories of the many people whose lives he touched. George was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on October 13, 1947, the son of George Wainwright Lowe and Abbie Tippets. He spent his early years in Kaysville, Utah and attended Davis High School. He also studied at Southern Utah University until electing to serve as full-time missionary for two years in the Eastern Atlantic States. Upon completion of his mission, he attended the University of Utah and graduated with a BS in Psychology, MS in Clinical Psychology, and MS in Human Resource Management in Economics. He met his sweetheart, Ilene, while in Salt Lake City and they were married in the LDS Oakland Temple in 1970. George was a recognized expert in the field of human resource management and organizational development and completed many consulting assignments for various companies. He was known for his unique ability to help businesses resolve complex organizational problems. He wrote training materials and developed a number of tools, programs, and procedures that are widely used today by consultants seeking to help companies leverage the skills of their work force. Although his professional accomplishments are many, George considered his most satisfying endeavor to be a program for handicapped youth he instigated early in his career.  He originated, developed, and directed the first successful program to train and place handicapped youth as cleaning staff in hotels and hospitals. Surviving are his wife Ilene, son G. Scott and his wife Angela; son Brett and his wife Laura, daughter Christina; two grandchildren, Gavin and Gunnison; and his brother and sister-in-law Michael T. and Memory Lowe. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 10, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville City Cemetery. Friends and family may call Monday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Lowe Family Benefit Fund at Andrews Kurth, 111 Congress Ave, Suite 1700, Austin, TX 78701.     e‑mail condolences to the family at [email protected]
