George Hanrahan Obituary

Hanrahan, George J. age 79, passed away November 16, 2005, a resident of Frankfort for 30 years, formerly of Chicago West Pullman area. He was a member of Local 17 in Chicago, a Heat and Frost Instillator, Veteran of the United States Army, 1st Army serving under General Patten in WWII, a loyal member of VFW, American Legion, Elks, Moose and he volunteered for the Frankfort Falcons. He is survived by his loving family; his wife Patricia Rose Hanrahan (nee Gallivan), his three children Patricia (Andrew) Apanovitch, Dan (Barbara) Hanrahan and Tim (Juli) Hanrahan; his brothers and sisters Mickey Siska, Dolores Cross, Richard, James and Danny Hanrahan, Diane Pleckham, Barney Hanrahan and Donna Jo Smerz; nine grandchildren George, Christopher, Gregory, Ashley, Patrick, Brittany, Meredith, Jack and Timmy; three great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his many cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Ellen (nee Vezina) Hanrahan; brothers Jo and Billy Hanrahan and a sister Joan Leifker. Family will receive friends Sunday, November 20, 2005, from 2 until 8 p.m., at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 65 Old Frankfort Way (Corner of LaGrange Rd., South of Lincoln Highway), Frankfort, IL, 60423. Funeral Mass Monday, November 21, 2005, 10 a.m., leaving from St. Joseph Church, 235 E. North, Manhattan, IL, 60442, for an 11 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Local 17, Don Hubert Fund, 3850 S. Racine, Chicago, IL, 60609. My condolences to the entire Hanrahan family for your loss of a person that was so much part of all your lives. Dan speaking with you today about the loss of your dad it was nice to see your persoanl side and the refelections of your father that clearly mean so much to you and your entire family. We will keep your dad George in our prayers and wish everyone well in dealing with your sadness and sense of loss during these dark hours.
