George Griner Obituary

Griner, George Allen age 71, of Essex, Il, passed away Monday, September 2, 2002 at his home. Born March 27, 1931 in Chicago, IL. George had been employed as a Mechanical Engineer at Continental X-Ray for 45 years. George was a Veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserves from 1949-1957. He was a member of the Leyden Laurel Masonic Lodge in Franklin Park, IL. He attended St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church in Essex, IL. Surviving are his wife, Carol (nee Schratzmeier), whom he married June 2, 1956 in Chicago, IL; four children, Cynthia (Grant) Koeller of Flanagan, IL, Gerald (Maria) Griner of Plainfield, Caryn Parat of Bensenville, IL and Steven (Dawn) Griner of West Chicago, IL; ten grandchildren; his mother, Rose (nee Colatriano) Costa of New Port Richey, FL. preceded in death by his father, George A. Griner. Funeral services will be held at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Homes, Ltd., Braidwood Chapel, Thursday, September 5 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Steve Bondi officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Braidwood, IL. Visitation Wednesday, September 4, from 5 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to a fund or charity of the donor's choice. R.W.
