To the Connor family,
What a kind and gentle soul! I remember fondly listening to my father tell stories of he and George Connor. He was a true and great friend to my father. I know that his "Birthday Buddy" Bert was there to welcome him and that they are up there whooping it up. Know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers now and throughout the year!

To Jack Connor: My deepest sympathy go out to you and the family. You and George are trully great ND men and how I admire your brotherly love. To those of us who attended ND just after WW 2 George was such a vibrant presence and a remarkable player and person. How we loved the pep rallies when George and Ziggy would talk. Jack, you were blessed to have him as a brother and he was blessed to have you. With deepest sympathy, Bill Donovan

Dear George and Al,
My reguards to the two of you and your family. I'm sorry to read of your loss and I wanted to express my sympathy. Your dad was a good man and greatly respected.
It's been many years since the "USS Clipper" days but I've thought of you two from time to time. I feel that I never thanked George Jr for taking me to the Atlanta game back in "85", it was my fist and only Bears game---thanks.

One of my great thrills in sports was riding on the elevator with George Connor (he was fully dressed for the game, carrying his football shoes and helmet under his arm) in a Memphis hotel shortly before the Bears played the Redskins in an exhibition game in 1955. One of the few modern players to be named All-Pro on both offense and on defense!

Sue, Flora and I were saddened to read about George. For me it was truly an honor to know him from the days at Hardy prep and our sons playing football, through the Loyola academy Ramble, and of course our membership in the Frank Leahy Post. Please express our sympathy to the rest of your family

To The Family Of George: You have lost a good and kind man. His Charity work was immesurable. I was proud to know him and to work with his Scholarship Commitee for De Lasalle. George was always good for a story, and they were always worth listening to. God bless George and his Family in these sad moments.

Thanks George, for showing us what a football player is all about. I was a 12-yr-old kid at Wrigley Field in 1952; a running back for the visiting team broke through the line ,but then literally collapsed when he ran into a brick wall; that wall was you ,George. I never forgot that play, and how the fans reacted to it. Bye,George, thanks again. Don Lee
