Byerwalter, George F. U.S. Navy Veteran WWII, loving husband of Jane (nee Woelkers) for over 50 years, died suddenly on Thursday, October 23rd. Beloved father of Barbara Ryan, Jean (Tom) Simcoe, Patricia (Dan) Stecich, George (Therese, nee Gallagher) Byerwalter, Joann (Tim) Prendergast, Gail (Mark) Lutz and the late Nancy (Mike) McHugh, devoted and proud grandfather of 16 grandchildren and the late Jayne McHugh, dear brother of Robert (Mary Jane), Joseph (Mimi) and the late Jack (Denise) Byerwalter, kind brother-in-law of Lois (Robert) Thompson, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. George served his country proudly during WWII as a radioman aboard the USS Endicott and served his community as a past president of the South Suburban Serra Club. His smile, his love of conversation, his generosity and his presence will be sorely missed by all who love him. Visitation Sunday, 2 to 9 p.m. Funeral Monday, 9:15 a.m., from Thornridge Funeral Home (Janusz Family Funeral Service), 14318 S. LaGrange Rd. (9600 W./Rte. 45), Orland Park, to St. Francis of Assisi Church. Mass 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Misericordia North, 6300 N.
