Dear Maratea Family,

I just went by the barbershop and learned of the sad news of Jerry’s passing. I wanted to pass along my deepest condolences to your entire family.

I am now a man in my late 20’s and Jerry had been my barber since I was a teenager in high school. I very much enjoyed being in his chair for a haircut and a shave, the old-fashioned way. But what I enjoyed the most were his routine of jokes and that grinning smile he always had on his face, it was contagious. Every time I would leave the shop I would thank him and there would always be a smile on my face because of Jerry. I am sad to see him go but I’ll never forget his kindness or that smile.

I was a regular customer of your father's for over 10 years since moving to this neighborhood. He was always warm and friendly. Always smiled when he saw me coming. I felt I was amongst friends in his barber shop. I am deeply saddened by his death. I will miss him. My deepest sympathies to his family. JAMES SCOTT, CHICAGO

Josie and family, we are so sorry for this horribly sudden loss of your father, I know how hard it is but just know he's watching down on you and hoping you can stay strong through this time.

Josie my deepest condolences go out to you and your family. It is very heard to lose a parent. I know this for myself. But I can only tell you this, cherish all the memories that you have had with your father may they be good or bad. Those memories will always keep him alive in your heart and in your soul. I can empathize with you and what you are going through.
