Zeimis, Genevieve Olga (nee Dereszkiewicz) March 19, 2015, age 96. Late of Chicago Heights, formerly of Harvey. Beloved wife of the late Frank A. Zeimis; dear mother of Forrest and Robert Zeimis and Gloria (Jerry) Wiltfang; cherished grandmother of Nicole and Jeremy (Laura) Zeimis, Alexandra and Forrest Wiltfang; great-grandmother of Parker Zeimis; loving sister of the late Jim (Anne) Deress, the late Ted (the late Vivian) Deress, the late Stanley (the late Juanita) Deress and the late Olga (the late Paul) Gibson. Genevieve or "Gen" as she was known, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Life long member of the Ascension Church in Harvey, IL, past member of the Lithuanian Club, and a member of a bunco club whose members stayed together for over 60 years. She was a skilled seamstress, an avid reader and loved the most challenging crossword puzzle-to be done in ink. Enjoyed staying current in political news and current events and made sure she voted in every election until her passing. Fishing and gardening were her passions. She was happy to sit in a boat or on a pier and fish the day away whether they were biting or not because the next cast may get "the big one." Passed along her Lithuanian traditional dishes to her family. She kept a garden all her life with vegetables and flowers. "Just watching something grow" brought her joy. Resting at the Tews Funeral Home, 18230 Dixie Hwy., Homewood Monday, March 23 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Tuesday, 9:15 a.m. to Ascension St. Susanna Church, 15234 Myrtle Ave. Harvey, IL 60426.
