While attending Mass this morning, I heard a name out of my past, "Yandel". Upon further investigation I discovered that this person was the mother of one of my favorite high school teachers, Miss Mandel. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family. It's never easy to say goodbye, especially to your mother. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

A most gracious lady who raised a wondeful family. She truely loved her neighbor as herself. God surely welcomed her.

Speaking for all of Gerry's buddies from DLS, Phil, Bob, Gerry H., and all of us - Mrs. Yandel was always a gracious hostess, made everyone feel welcome in her home; a wonderful lady.

Memories are treasures that never fade. I have so many after many years with Gen. A few off the top of my head, the Birthday Book. With every card written Gen would tell me a story about the family. Another super memory was her love of the White Sox. We were watching the Champions Parade and I asked Gen to put on the White Sox Shirt Lois bought her, I took a picture of her when Ozzie came on the screen, her smile was dazzling! Did you know she was President of the Ladies Club at St. Brendans School? Gen an I went to the same school with lots of discussions about the neighborhood and the great people that grew up there. I will miss Gen and her beautiful family, but I am blessed that the opportunity was there for a few years of lovely times. Your forever friend, Rose Ann

Grandma- I'll always remember the wonderful times when you lived upstairs. Fresh baked-goods daily and those old-car jello molds you kept under the bed! Such great memories. You lived the best life and we will miss you and your stories dearly.

Aunt Gen was one of the fixtures of my childhood. Big family gatherings at someone's house, big meals with lots of noise and everyone talking at the same time. Lots of cousins that I could never remember the names of. and always, lots of hugs, joking, and the feeling of being welcome. When I married I broughtmy wife to one of the family picnics and she was overwhelmed, and immediately welcomed by everyone. I'll always treasure those memories that Aunt Gen made possible.
