Dear Geraldine, Ellie, Aimee, Fred and families: I wish I could be there to join in the send-off for Fred. His strength allowed all of you to live your dreams with joy knowing he was home waiting to hear all your stories. I know it will be unbearable to go home and not have him there. He is now "at home" with all the Delaneys and O'Connors who went before him. You are all in my prayers.
all my love,
Patty Power

Nick and I want to express our sympathy to the whole family in the loss of your husband, dad, father-in-law, and grandpa. We know how much you will miss him. Even though we only met Fred once in Iowa City (when Aimee and Amy were loading up after graduation), we DO know that his wisdom and twinkly eyes live on in Aimee.

Dear Delaney Family,
please accept my heartfelt condolances on Fred's passing. In my 30 plus years in governmental work, Fred was by far the best and most trustworthy political figure I had the pleasure to work with. It is a rare occurance when a political figure puts those they represent ahead of their own political interests and Fred exemplified that mindset. Remember the good times and cherish the memories, although he is no longer with us Fred lives on in my heart and memories. Dan Lueder
