Fred Daudell Obituary

Daudell, Fred W. Jr. Beloved husband of Beverly R. nee Beutler for 62 years. Loving father of Diane (the late Larry) and David (Elizabeth). Dear son of the late Bertha nee Hensel and the late Fred, Sr. Fond grandfather of Katelynn and Karley Daudell; dear brother of Ruth (the late Edward) Wroblewski, Robert (Florance), brother in law Arthur (Joyce) Beutler. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Born and raised on Chicago's far southwest side; served two years in the military during Korea conflict. Upon discharge in 1954 he was returned to employment at the US Post Office at Englewood Station for 20 years, followed by 22 years at the Evergreen Park Station. During these times he was union stewart at both stations, and became an officer in National Association of Letter Carriers/ Charles Duffy Branch 11 of Chicago, who named the Union hall at their headquarters the Fred Daudell Hall;. He also held the office of Health Benefit Representative for 33 years, served as a facilitator of Branch 11 for employees involvement into his retirement. In 1997 he became Assistant Director of Retirees for the State of Illinois Letter Carriers. He received numerous service awards, the latest being the Lifetime Achievement Award. In lieu of flowers memorials to Ashburn Lutheran Church, Christ Lutheran Church of Orland Park or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Funeral Monday, 11:00 am at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave. Oak Lawn, IL. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2 to 9 PM.
