Frank Thurston Obituary

Dover - Frank Kenneth Thurston, Sr., 87, of 22 Niles Drive died Sunday June 22, 2003 at Langdon Place of Dover.

Born in Manchester on December 29, 1915 the son of Frank J. and Edith M. (Kemp) Thurston. He was raised in Manchester and moved to Raymond in 1970. Upon the death of his wife in 1993 he moved to Dover.

Frank was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II having served in France and Germany.

Prior to his retirement in 1983 he was employed by Cushcraft of Manchester.

He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching the Red Sox’s.

The widower of Iva (Ward) Thurston who died in 1993, he is survived by two sons Frank K. Thurston, Jr. and his wife Elaine of Dover, Richard Thurston and his wife Joyce of Colorado Springs, CO, a daughter Linda Galloway her husband Kim of Las Vegas, NV and Alice Springs, Australia, eight grandchildren Scott Thurston, Keren Griffin, Michael Thurston, Mark Thurston, Kevin Galloway, Temple Galloway, Kristin Roberts, Laura Hall; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters Ruth Poisson and Olive Pratt and her husband Louis all of Manchester, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife a brother Clyde Thurston who died in 1996 and a sister Katherine Taryla who died in 1968 predeceased him.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave. with Rev. Anne Robertson, pastor of St. John United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in the family lot in Old Pine Grove Cemetery, Raymond, NH.
