Frank Mares Obituary

Mares, Frank E. (1930 - 2016) A resident of Orland Park, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Frank was founder of Mares Service, Inc., a commercial towing and truck repair company located in Cicero, Illinois. The business started with one tow truck in 1954, and eventually grew to a fleet of more than two dozen high performance wreckers, including the first "Super Truck" to hit the highway. Predeceased in 2015 by Mary Lou (nee Peters), his wife of 62 years, and in 1994, by his son, Richard Mares. Beloved father of Frank R. Mares of Oak Lawn, Pamela Mares (Bob Wrobel) and Luann (Ed) Meyer of Orland Park. Grandchildren include Cory (Mark) Hopper, Katie Mares Vinson and Kelly Mares. Great-grandfather of Caleb Mares, Cheyenne Hopper, Jayne Hopper and Kathryn Madison Mares. Also surviving is brother, Ernest (Gerri) Mares of San Diego, California, and brother-in-law, Joseph Pasquinelli. Frank was uncle to many nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Jana; wife's parents, Richard and Ursula (nee Clemons) Peters; sister, Mildred Meloun, and sister-in-law, Karen Pasquinelli. Private Memorial.
