Frank Fujita Obituary

Fujita, Frank "Frankie" Shigeru

Frank "Frankie" Fujita passed away on May 22, 2025, in Port Townsend, Washington, at the age of 93, surrounded by many loving friends and family. Born on February 5, 1932, in Los Angeles, California, Frankie's early years were marked by profound challenges. As a child, he and his family were forced into Japanese internment camps during World War II-an experience that shaped his resilience, compassion, and deep appreciation for freedom.

After the war, the Fujita family resettled in Chicago, where Frankie grew up within a Shinto Buddhist household that instilled in him a strong sense of heritage, humility, and spiritual grounding.

Frankie went on to serve his country with honor as a member of the 101st Airborne Division, the famed Screaming Eagles. His time in the military sparked a lifelong love of skydiving, adventure, and the open sky. He carried that spirit with him throughout his life.

A true businessman and world traveler, Frankie explored far beyond the borders of the United States, building connections, friendships, and stories across the globe. His curiosity, humor, and generosity made him unforgettable to all who crossed his path.

In 2019, Frankie relocated to Washington State, where he quickly became a beloved member of the community. His warmth, wisdom, and gentle presence touched countless lives. He was deeply loved, deeply respected, and will be deeply missed.

Frankie leaves behind a legacy of courage, kindness, and a life fully lived.
