Age 68 of Homer Glen, IL passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Silver Cross Hospital, New Lenox, IL. Frank was born in Hinsdale, IL to the late James W. and Elsie H. (nee Hansen) Charapata. Beloved husband of Georgia (nee Piper) Charapata, loving father of Stacey (Jimmy) Weller and Matthew (Lisa) Charapata, cherished grandfather of Maeve, Connor, Jordan, and Quinn, dear brother of Kathleen (late John) Studnicka, Jesse Charapata, Beverly Gaines, Kay (James) Oldham, Robert (Patricia) Charapata, Nancy (John) Tannahill, Kenneth (Jennifer) Charapata, the late David Charapata, and the late Lillian Charapata, brother-in-law of Terrie (Keith) Gustafson and Wayne (Debbie) Piper; loved uncle cousin, and friend of many. Frank was a retired heavy equipment mechanic and a member of IUOE Local 150. During his retirement Frank enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, family, and friends. He also took pleasure in working on small engines and woodworking. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family will receive friends at Kurtz Memorial Chapel 102 E. Francis Rd, New Lenox, IL on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 4 pm – 8 pm. Funeral Services Friday, January 31, 2025, at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Fairmount Willow Hills Memorial Park, Willow Springs, IL.
