I did not know Frank. Today I read about him and enjoyed looking at his work. I obtained a piece of his photography equipment as a gift (etched with his name and SS#), so I looked him up and I feel honored to own one of his spotlights, on display in my home. It was a piece for sale in a vintage shop in Seattle, and I just thought it was a cool piece, and found out it has so much more back story. I love that.

Sending my regards: Ruth Conner. I had Frank for professor at the SAIC where I rec'd a MFA in printmaking and photography. Frank was a great teacher along with Bob Loescher when 22 students went to Italy for the Summer of 1982... I have fond memories of Frank from that trip along with many lessons learned with the View Camera in his classes... He was a person that inpired us all to do our best. Doing alternative/contemporary photo/printmaking processes, he supported my vision... and that was really helpful for my years at SAIC.. regards to family and close friends. Ruthie

I thought I had a post here. I was so sa to hear of Frank's passing. He was one of my few creative mentors in life who really helped form me as a creative. I had the pleasure to house/dog sit for him in the late 80's and created some stunning photos during my stay. Thank you for your big heart and for being supportive of me when other teachers in the photo department didn't get me. You will never be forgotten.
