Seems like yesterday that we kids were running all over Edgebrook while our parents had their parties, cocktails, church events, nightime walks and so much more. Frank Smith looms larger than life in my memories of all that. He was a cool guy.

My heart goes out to all of you on this loss. He will be missed by us all.

We are very sorry to hear that your Father has passed away. You must be very proud to have been raised by such an accomplished man. To have lived such a full life after serving our Country in World War II is more than most can ever dream of, much less attain. You are all in our thoughts and prayers. As a self-appointed representative of all the nephews whose heads hurt from the "nooggies" or "knuckle rubs" as John Wehrheim called them, I promise to keep up the Uncle Frank tradition of "knuckle love" with all relatives whenever possible.

Sorry not to be able to be there to celebrate Uncle Frank's wonderful life.

We all love you so much and miss you terribly already. Now, please do what you can about that darn billy goat up there. I'll be thinking about you every time I am watching our beloved Cubbies. Say hi to Gaga for us!
