Frankie was one in a million. He had a heart of gold and a smile that could light up a room. Frank was always willing to help everyone, no matter who you were, and all he wanted in return was another's happiness. He was truly a selfless man and an example to us all. I consider myself so blessed to be his friend, and will miss him so very much. But through the grief, I know that I have been blessed to know this angel on earth. Collette, Mom Calkins, Seth, Emily, Jessie, Ray, Moses, and Marty, I pray that God gives you strength in the days ahead. My prayers are always with you. Thank you all for sharing this wonderful man with me.

Dear Seth, Emily and the entire Calkins family, I just learned of Frank's passing and I am deeply sorry for your loss. My daughters Shannon, Jennie and Carrie Leahy all attended St. Francis. Many times I dropped Jennie off to spend time with Emily. Frank was there with his smile. Shannon was involved with TEC and would come home with a story to tell about Frank. Frank will be missed but never forgotten. May God Bless your days ahead!

To Frankie's wonderful family~
My deepest sympathies on the loss of dear Frankie. I went to QC with Frankie and Marty--those smiling faces were among the first I met at college. I'll never forget Frankie's big smile and bigger heart and soul. His was truly a life well-lived--full of joy, love, compassion and help for others, determination and grace. I know the beauty and blessing of his all too short life lives on in Collette, his kids, his family and legions of friends. Marty, please know you have a special place in my heart and prayers during these difficult days. I'll always think of Frankie with a smile, and reflect on how lucky I was to have known him. With love and prayers~

My deepest condolences to the entire Calkins family, I was shocked to see this obit. I went to high school with Frankie and Marty. I always admired both brothers and never knew anyone more competative as those two. I'm deeply sadened to know that Frankie is gone, over the years I've told my children some of the good times we had boxing, wrestling, and playing football while at Gordon Tech. Frankie was always kind to me ,always had a good thing say to help pick me up when i was down. He was always encouraging every one around him to be their best, that we could do anything if we worked hard enough. I'm sure from what I knew of Frankie that he must of become a wonderful father and husband. Please take comfort in knowing that he will always be remembered by me and I hope by his example I'll be a better husband and father also. I wish I could lessen the pain I'm sure Marty is in, I know how close they were. I wish only the best for all of you, Frankie will keep close watch over all of you. God Bless, Frank [dluggs] Dlugopolski class of 1981
