Vande Merkt, devoted mother of Shirley Manson, Robert Smotherman, Beverly Garman, Donna (Paul) Bredlau, Joan Smotherman, Cynthia (George) Hanson, and the late Phyllis (the late Eugene) Brevitz, dear grandmother of 15, great-grandmother of 23, and great-great-grandmother of seven, fond sister of Violet Albrecht and sister-in-law of Luella Giese, fond aunt and friend of many.
