Evelyn Mims Obituary

Evelyn Patricia Mims passed away on the morning of September 24, 2002 surrounded by many of her loving family. She was preceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles Mims.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Bill Mims of Santa Monica, CA., her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Mary Delaney, of Whitefish, MT, her granddaughter Deborah Pickett of Dragoon, AZ, her grandson, Morgan Delaney of Whitefish, MT, her beloved sister-in-law, Irene Morgan of Jacksonville, AR, nieces and nephews: Judy Justice of North Little Rock, Martha Bridges of Benton, AR, Janet DiFilippo of Springfield, MO, Don Morgan of Woodlawn, AR, Robert Morgan of North Little Rock, dozens of grandnieces and nephews and thousands of children to whom she brought smiles during her many years as one of Wal-Mart’s first greeters.

Born in BellFlower, Illinois, Evelyn was a 1933 graduate of North Little Rock High School. Evelyn made a home for her husband, a career marine corps officer, and family from the shores of Midway Island after WWII, to Hawaii, California, N. Carolina, S. Carolina, Florida and Arkansas.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 26, from 6:00PM until 8:00 PM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills.
