Harskey, Evelyn M.

Age 84 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. Born March 27, 1937 in Rome, New York, Evelyn Margaret was a daughter of Henry and Lillian (Bauer) Helenius. She was a caretaker at heart and for over twenty years worked as an at home nanny for numerous families and wonderful children. Evelyn also worked dispatch for Ambassador Towing for a number of years. Her favorite job was taking care of her family and her home. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Evelyn in survived by her children: Victoria L. (Joseph, Sr.) Conley and Judith A. Harskey; grandchildren: Lisa Olson, James Olson and Julia Renee Harskey (Keith Kinney); great-grandchildren: Chyenne Marquez, Robert Marquez, Jayden Marquez, Keith Kinney, Jr. and Emerald Kinney; sister: Barbara (the late George) Valas, as well as loving aunt and fond friend too many. She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years: James R. Harskey who passed away in 2018 and her parents: Lillian and Henry, as well as three brothers and three sisters. Family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. A celebration of Evelyn's life will continue on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 with a funeral service in the funeral home chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow and Evelyn will be laid to rest with her husband James at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Romeoville.
