Mrs Jacobson was my piano teacher when I was younger. I would love to sit and listen to her play. We would talk about many things that had nothing to do with music. My mom would sit on the room near the ficus tree or at the eating room table with her companion Zeno. When I first learned about quilting, I could not wait to tell Mrs. Jacobson. She was just as excited about as I was about my new found love of quilting. Even though I was just in grammar school, she asked me to make a quilt for her first grandchild. So I made her a Sunbonnet Sue quilt. The last time I saw her was at my wedding. I loved Mrs. Jacobson and I miss her to this day

Dear Fruman, Samuel, and families: I have carried "Mrs." Jacobson's influence with me throughout my life, and I've honored her and beloved Zeno with a mention in my first novel for young readers, CUBA 15 (Delacorte Press, June 2003), though the names have been changed. I loved her very much.

My deepest sympathies to Fruman, Samuel and all the Jacobsons on the passing of this wonderful woman, artist, and humanitarian, Jeanne Jacobson. Mrs. Jacobson taught me and all of my siblings to play piano. We remember her "stickers," oversize colored pencils, her encouraging smile, and wonderful sense of humor. She touched many, many lives.
