Gene and I worked at Marsh & McLennan in the 1960s for John Flanagan and Jack Stacy, Jr. Gene was a great favorite of Flanagan and Stacy and it was a fun, happy working environment. I left after 8 years and Gene was still there but I believe he went to work for Mass Mutual, or some other Insurance Company. As I get longer in the tooth myself, I am sad to learn he is gone and that he suffered from Alzheimer's. I lost a sister to Alzheimer's 8 years ago and It is a sad way to go. His children will not be surprised to know he was a great coworker and 50 years later, I continue to remember him fondly. Gervaise Hett

Sadly, we had not seen Gene for some time. He was a great friend, father to a wonderful family, and husband to a special wife. A life well lived. Our sympathies to the family.
