Eugene Laskowski Obituary

Laskowski, Eugene L. Age 90, born and raised in South Chicago, died at Manteno Veterans Home after a short illness. Beloved son of the late Boleslaus and Mary (nee Fuss); fond brother of the late Edward, and sisters, Loretta (late Joseph) Walsh and Maryann (Larry) Dotson; dear uncle of Janice (Robert) Skalski, Karen (David) Billek, Kevin (Mary Ellen) Walsh and Beverly (Alex) Mickus; great-uncle of 6 and great-great-uncle of 2; cherished cousin and friend to many. Gene was a graduate of Bowen H.S. and a WWII Veteran. He worked as a lather and carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter's Local Union No. 181. He was active in Veteran Affairs and belonged to the VFW, American Legion Post 0493 and the Polish Legion of American Veterans-Woodrow Wilson Post #20. He was a devoted member of St. James Catholic Church where he taught RCIA classes for many years. Gene will be dearly missed, as he always had a smile on his face and a friendly word for everyone. Memorial service to be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 23rd at St. James Catholic Church, 24000 S. Torrence Ave., Sauk Village. Inurnment Holy Cross Cemetery.
