I had the pleasure of working with Gene in the first district in the early 70's. He was a good wagon man, but made a terrific dispatcher on Zone 4. He had a calm, gentle voice, and knew everyone on the watch. And those on the watch respected him, and his knowledge. I'm glad to have met his family at his wake. Gene will be missed.

I worked with Gene in the lst District during the years 62 and 63. He not only was a good partner but he also was a great friend. In 1963 Gene, I, and a couple other guys from 1 went to Miami, in Feb., on our furlough. We had some great memories and would reminisce on those times every time I talked with Gene. I will miss talking to Gene. I was glad I got to see him a little over a year ago when he and Joanne stopped to visit. He hadn't changed a bit.
He was so fond of Joanne and his family. My condolences go out to you.
Gene will always be remembered.
