While I have only met you grandchildren, I knew Joan as a colleague and friend,and knew Paul through the Piers family. And I spent some special time with Erika, initially when she taught me something about the usefulness of hypnotherapy, but later one on one after Joan's overwhelmingly saddening death. Erika's life was
fascinating, fruitful, yet difficult
and complex. She leaves you with a legacy to be proud of, though I know that mourning her will be complex. She was a presence that I will miss. My thoughts are with you.

The faculty and staff at Loyola Univ. Chicago School of Social Work join me in expressing our sincere condolences upon the death of your grandmother. She was with us just two weeks ago for the Joan Greenstone Memorial Lecture which always gave her a wistful pleasure.
