Back in the early 1990's, I worked many a night with Eric as my partner on the 025th District North Avenue foot post. It didn't matter how cold or snowy it was out there, Eric always had various secret locations available for us to hide that were both warm and undiscoverable to our sergeant. As others have said, Eric was certainly one of a kind! I'll always look back fondly on our time together. RIP, Eric.

I LOVE YOU DEARLY! Your Baby T.

My deepest sympathy to Eric's family. He was my partner in 025 District but we were more than just partners. We often were at each others house's, he knew my children and they fondly remember him and are sadden to hear of his death. Our lives were very similar. We both grew up on the west side we both attended St Mel High school we both were in the US military and served in Vet Nam. It was only natural that we became partners. We had great times together both on and off duty. Eric was a friend and I will truly miss him. I will keep him and his family in my prayer's God Bless

My deepest sorrow at the passing of my special & dear friend of 40 years: Eric "Coach" Sanders. Innumerable memories, conversations, laughter, jokes, teasings and "lessons" from one who became as my brother. My prayers are extended to the family; I commend you to God and to the word of His grace.

My heart aches at the lost of a Dear Friend and Confidant, Eric "Coach" Sanders. For over 30 years, he brought love, loyalty, fun and friendship to the lives of myself and my children. I miss him now and always will, yet I know that I will see him again. May the God of All Comfort grant you peace and shadow you in His love.
