Elizabeth Talbot Obituary

Elizabeth C. Talbot, a longtime Verplanck resident, died Sunday at the NY State Veteran’s Home in Montrose. She was 90. She was a retired Dietetic worker at the FDR VA Hospital. Mrs. Talbot also worked at St. Joseph’s Home in Peekskill.
She was born on Nov. 2, 1913 in Rockland Lake, NY, the daughter of Steven and Elizabeth Erdo Wassily., who came to the US in 1903 from Hungary. She was the widow of Charles Talbot, who died in 1995. She was a member of the Verplanck Senior Citizens, and was a Communicant of St. Patrick’s Church. Survivors include her daughter, Betty Golden, of Cold Spring, her son Charles Talbot, of Palm Bay, FL, 6 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, she is predeceased by 2 brothers, John and Steven Wassily, and 2 sisters, Mary Nolan and Roseann Maguiness. Her Funeral Mass is Thursday at 10AM at St. Patrick’s Church. Friends may call on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 170 Kings Ferry Rd. Montrose. Burial is in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
