To the Malott family, my sincere sympathies in the passing of your wonderful and incredible Ibby. I worked for Hague-Richards Architects and met with her often on artwork projects. One special memory I have of her, was at her home, on her hands and knees, emptying her dining room buffet to show me her "mud figures" and telling me (with great animation) of the moss gardens that she made in China as a child to celebrate the coming of spring. She delighted and loved many things in this life........and now.......she becomes legend.

Dear Malott family --

What a wealth of wonderful memories you must have of this radiant woman -- your wife, mother, grandmother, friend. It was a pleasure and a privilege to have witnessed that radiance and joie de vivre even fleetingly at dozens of galas, balls, and special events at Lyric Opera of Chicago. She will be deeply missed and warmly remembered.

I am so sorry to hear of Elizabeth's passing. I met her briefly while I worked at Grass Orchids approximately ten years ago; I worked with her as she was getting a dress designed and made. She was warm, gracious, lovely, energetic and a great lady who made an impression on me. She also invited my husband, Pat, and I to a silent auction for (I think) the Crow Indian Foundation, which we attended and had a wonderful time. She was obviously well-loved and respected as evidenced by how she was acknowledged at this event.

Dear Malott family,

The thought of this world without Mrs. Malott is heartbreaking. She set such a wonderful example of living a remarkable life, especially for women, in her ability to plan and reach goals, her insatiatable interest in everything, her boundless energy and determination as well as her willingness to share with others. All of you are in my heart and prayers during this terrible time.
