Eliza Goodbar Obituary

Eliza Jane Clark Goodbar, 89, of Lexington, Va., died Thursday, March 19, 2009, in Havenwood. She was born May 27, 1919, in Rockbridge County, a daughter of the late James Wilson Clark and Minnie Blanche Siron Clark. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goodbar was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Robert Goodbar; brothers and sisters, Margaret Newell, Wilson Jr., John Houston, Bill, Beulah Brown and Aubrey Clark. Surviving are a brother, Harry Custis Clark; two sisters, Erma C. Irvine and Virginia "Jean" Black, all of Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2009, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gary Short officiating. Burial will follow in Collierstown Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Collierstown Baptist Church, 3926 Collierstown Rd., Lexington, Va. 24450. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday, March 23, 2009, at Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.
