We'll always remember Edwin for the joy he generated whenever we were with him. Whether it was hosting the "Hawthorne" parties or a quiet conversation, it was always a pleasure.

We send our sincere condolences to Marian and the family.

Eddie, we had a lot of good times that Sorum, me and others will remember forever. You were a good friend to many of us at the bank. Rest in Peace and we all will see you later.

In Memory of Uncle Edwin,

Who loved those Charlevoix summers every bit as much we did, and masterminded so many unforgettable memories for all. Thank you. The part of yourself you shared through your unbridled love for the place lives on in the heart, the soul, and the lore of that charmed era.

Way back when, we all knew a good thing when we saw it; it became part of us, that Midwestern harbor town at the forty-fifth parallel, where so much life and youth ran free. Uncle Edwin, you will always play an essential part in any telling of that story, one so very close to our hearts. Rest easy.

With Love,

DKNJG

Around December, 1987, I did a rotation in the First Chicago department in which Edwin worked. I was in Rick Hartnack's management training program and was assigned to help out with credit review and credit files for two months or so. I have to say that Edwin was so warm and funny and really made me feel welcome. I remember him talking about so many famous Chicago people that he knew and always telling entertaining stories.

I just wanted to say that I have great memories of knowing him for a short time and that my prayers are with your family in this difficult time.

Respectfully,

April Rietjens Sedall

(another former First Chicago Bank V.P.)
