Dear Becca,
Sorry to hear about your father's passing away. I met him once at the beautiful house on Ridge Rd. when Margie took me there to meet your mother. I saw you mother at several local functions and always liked her. I hope you are well! Love, Ilana Platt

As a young girl, no matter how thrilling a 7th or 8th grade 'boy-girl' party was, if "MR. ROTHSCHILD" was the parent driving home, all silliness vanished. I don't know how we managed to miss his warmth and genuine interest in all of us youngsters! As I grew up, and got to know Sue and Ed as a young woman, that interest manifested itself in many ways; loaning me the family station wagon to transport art supplies to Barat (despite my history of backing over those white stones that lined the driveway!) as well as encouraging all my creative endeavors and helping me build my art history library. The last time I saw Ed was in 2003. Just before leaving Deerfield to visit Sue and Ed, one of my sons had put his wallet on the bumper of our car. Once we got to Ridge Road and realized what had happened Ed mounted a lengthy search back over miles of suburban roads for this missing wallet. What a guy! Love to the family.

I didn't know Ed and Sue, but I heard a lot about them from my father, who knew Ed professionally, and from my father's dear friend and lunch buddy, Dick Kahn, whose son Danny was married (all too briefly) to Julie. Wherever there was a cause for justice or a wrong to be righted, the Rothschilds were there. May his memory be a blessing.

All our sympathies to the family of a very special and respected couple, Ed and Sue, that we were privileged to know some years ago. Ed gave freely of his time and talents to our family through several difficult times in the 1970s. His counsel and support were so very greatly appreciated and remembered with affection over the years. Ann and John Bladholm, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin

Deepest sympathy in the passing of Mr. Rothschild to all his family and friends. I am glad I was able to know him and work for him at Rothschild, Barry and Myers. I will always remember him as the kindest person I have ever known.

I never had the honor of meeting Edward but see his legacy through the work of his son Jono and the great prestigious law firm that bears his name that Edward created.
