I knew Eddie since we were teenagers. I remember fondly the many happy times we spent at my parents home. We remained friends over the many years. He will certainly be missed by me and my family. May God Bless and Keep Him.

I feel terrible, having been out of the country at the time of Coach Novak's death. Ed was like a father to me at times, a great friend always. I am a better person for having known him. Rest in peace Coach, we'll miss you.

Ed (Sonny) was one of the "good" guys. I can't remember him ever with an unkind word to say or without a smile on his face. We are so very sorry for your loss and our prayers and thoughts are with the entire "Novak" family. God bless all of you in this time of sorrow.
Love,
Marlene, Jim and Charlene

Never had I heard anything negative about Ed"Sonny" Novak. My folks always spoke very highly of you. Mom made it a point to advertise when you called her. It was like you were my older brother and not my cousin. I remember you always finding time for me when I was growing up...the card tricks. Sonny, take care. You're in a better place. Do those card triks for Harry & Josephine. They'll get a good laugh from them. You were a great cousin, like all the others

A Great Coach, a Great Teacher, a Great Godfather and a good, decent and loving man. He has touched so many lives in a positive way. Truly "The Lion of the Back of the Yards." Now surrounded in heaven by a cheering, smiling and boisterous crowd. Thanks "Sonny".
