To the James family and Staff at Dr. James' office, I was deeply saddened to learn of Dr. James' passing. I was scheduled for an appt on Aug. 18th, showed up to the office and no one was there. I did not find out until I was informed by the answering service. I was and still am in COMPLETE SHOCK! I saw Dr. James for 18 years and he was a wonderful dentist. He was patient and concerned and his staff was the absolute greatest! My heart and prayers go out to all who loved him. He will be deeply missed.

To the James family,
I was sadden to learn, after calling Dr. Jerome James office a few days ago of his passing. I was a patient of Dr. James for over 15 years and because of his great work, I only saw him and his friendly staff twice yearly for dental cleaning. I remember him always having a smile and always professional.
I pray that God give you peace and assurance of his everlasting love which will illuminate through all who love you.

I can remember when I was a teenage girl going to Dr. James' office. His office was a block away from where I lived. I was afraid of going to the dentist because that's associated with pain. Dr. James was a very compassionate person. He would talk to you while performing his exams and make you feel so comfortable. I liked and respected Dr. James a lot and he will missed sorely be missed. Rest in peace Dr. James.

I just recently found out about Dr. James's passing. I called to make an appointment and was informed of his death. I still can't believe it. I am so sorry for your lost. I know that this has saddened you deeply, because he was just my dentist; not a husband, father, uncle, nephew, son, etc. I didn't realize that he was in his sixties. He really looked very good for his age. He was always so patient with me. I am terribly afraid of needles and just going to the dentist period. Dr. James was a wonderful person and a wonderful, caring dentist and will be solely missed by my husband and myself. Please take care of yourselves and you are in my prayers.

Jasmine,
I hadn't seen your dad in years, but he's someone I will never forget. In high school my parents were very cautious about me staying overnight at any of my friends' houses in which a male resided in the home; even if the male was that person's father. However, because my parents discerned the "genuine" spirit of your dad, they felt very comfortable allowing me to stay overnight at your house. When I was at your house, I felt the same loving, protected, feeling that I felt at home with my dad. In order for me to have felt that way, simply means that Mr. James was a "very special man"... :-) I love you and I will continue to pray for you, Ebony and Mrs. James. I can't say that I understand how you feel, but I will say that I understand and know that JESUS CHRIST will comfort you and your family if you trust in HIM, hear HIS WORD, and read HIS WORD.
Love U, Meachie

I will remember the family in my prayers as well as the office staff. I was in the office in Jan. I will remember the advice given regarding living life, retirement, and my dreams. I remember the impression he made on my youngest grandson. I will miss his laughter, professionalism, and personalization that he gave me as a patient. He did not take notes but remembered to ask about work, family, illnesses, etc. Allow the Comforter to give you strength to make it without your loved one's physical presence. He will live on.

I believe there are NO words for your loss, remember the good/great times. My prays go out to the family.
I had called today (3/8/07) to make my appointment, its was time for me and Dr. James to have our quarterly talk (him lecturing me about my teeth). To the family again, I must say how sorry I am for your loss. He was a wonderful man.
Dr. James was MY dentist, I would tell everyone about HIM and his service. I would tell anyone who would listen that if you need a good dentist that cared about your teeth and did not hurt you, you have to go to Dr. Jerome James on 84th-85th & Cottage Grove. People would say: it looks like you can do a commercial for the man and I would say yeh and he don't have to pay me just take care of me teeth.
He coached me thru my fear of dentistry and it has now been over twenty something years. He was a good and great man in my eyes, I will MISS your husband, father, brother, uncle, friend... But He was MY DENTIST.

My mother worked with your father. Her name is Paula and I am her and William Williamson's eldest daughter. Your dad was like a member of our family. He was a great guy and a great dentist! I am 44 years old and still have the same fillings he did for me when I was 13! Now that's some good work! I was terrified of dentists until I went to your father. I felt no pain whatsoever and have always spoken highly of him and his work. My prayers are with you girls. Veola, my mom (Paula) was so upset to hear about Doc and wanted me to relay her condolences to you. She lives in Las Vegas now and was so sad last night when she got got the news. Dr. James was my childhood (and lifelong) dentist. He was a very kind man who always took a genuine concern and interest with me as a person and a patient. Dr. James was a positive influence that encouraged me to become a better person with each visit. I will miss his supportive words and gentle dental practices. Dr. James you will surely be missed. Veola and family, all of my families heartfelt prayers and best wishes go out to you. Be strong and trust in the Lord.
My family and yours have been very close for many years, as Dr. James grew up with my parents and their brothers and sisters. And I remember many family occasions sharing a conversation and laugh with you.
Dr. J, I remember your smiling face and witty jokes, like the time I visited your dental practice and you telling me my teeth were in such good shape, you could not make any money off of me. You will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace.

Dear Veola, Jasmine and Ebony,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I remember Dr. James so well from our childhood days. He had such a warm smile and was always nice to Jasmine's (and Ebony's) friends. I pray that God eases your sorrow during this difficult time. My prayers are with you all.
