Edward Grandpreí Obituary

Anderson, SC - Dr. Edward Arthur Grandpreí, age 49 of 1206 Ravenswood Drive, Anderson, SC, died Friday, March 17, 2006 at his residence.
Born in Philadelphia, PA on November 13, 1956, Dr. Grandpreí was the son of Joan Lasday Grandpreí of Easley, SC and the late Pierre Louis Grandpreí. He received his undergraduate degree from High Point University, Masters Degree from Wake Forest University and a Ph.D. from The Ohio State University. He was an assistant professor of Higher Education at Clemson University, Clemson, SC. Formerly, he served at the University of Georgia as Director of Student Services in the College of Education and at Mississippi State University, The Ohio State University and Florida State University in a variety of positions in student affairs. He was the advisor of Alpha Phi Omega at Clemson University. He was an Eagle Scout; he loved his work with and for college students, a wide variety of music, and his dogs. Most importantly he was a devoted father to his two daughters. He is survived by his mother and his daughters, Hannah and Claire Dunn-Grandpreí of Athens, GA and his good dog, Scout. He is preceded in death by his father, his sister, Anne Grandpreí and his faithful dog, Ranger.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 20, 2006 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home officiated by Dr. Peter Cohen and Mr. Jack McKenzie. Interment will follow in the King David Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
The family will receive friends at The McDougald Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, March 20, 2006 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
Memorials may be made to the Clemson University Foundation, APO-Keese Scholarship Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 1889, Clemson, SC 29633-1889.
