dear Robert
Your father was such a warm and affable person, so easy-going with his kids' friends. And a world-class musician, although he never made a big deal about it. My condolences to you and the Druzinsky family (and apologies that I didn't know until now that your dad passed away)

Dear Michael...

I always admired your dear and extraordinarily gifted father. Having just lost my beloved Mother, Betty, I know the hole one feels without one's mentor-parent...
Love to you, elisabeth matesky

What a great person and a great talent. I will never forget performances with him at The Francis W. Parker School and later with the CSO. I will forever hear him play in my head when I sing 'che faro senza euridice' as we did in 1969. He was a true mensch.

Dear Robert, Michael, & Paul,
I'm so very sorry to learn of your father's passing. I just opened & read the FWP email, and what you wrote about him. What an amazing, accomplished, illustrious life. To think we took all that for granted when we listened to "Robert's dad" on our Wednesday afternoon outings to Orchestra Hall in Third Grade. (But not when we grew up!)
Mr. Druzinsky was such a lovely man. My thoughts and deepest sympathies are with you all at this sad time.

Very saddened to hear of Eddie's passing. He was my Ravinia carpool buddy, my 151 bus buddy to Orchestra Hall, my neighbor around the corner, a dinner companion, a Yiddische boychik but most of all a great musican who served as a role model for my early years in the profession. I'll miss him a lot.

My deepest sympathies to your family.

Everything leaves but love remains.

May you find comfort in your memories.

They are gone from our sight...
but never our memory.

Gone from our hearing...
but never our hearts.

Gone from our touch...
but their presence is felt.

Though the voice is silent,
The spirit echoes on.

And the love that they gave you
never departs.

As a CSO colleague and friend, I am very saddened by the loss of Eddie Druzinsky, who was a very kind person, marvelous artist, and wonderful father to his son, Michael, whom I came to know quite well. My sincere condolences to Michael and all the Druzinsky family. Eddie's musicianship and musical presence as a premier harpist is a real loss to the world of music and musicians in Chicago, which also encompasses the international musical community of present and past colleagues. He was a bright light...

Eddie was such a sweet and kind, gentle man. So many of us, "Parker kids", received our love and appreciation of music from the exposure he gave us. How lucky we all were to know him.

My thoughts and wonderful memories are with all of you.

My sympathy to Eddie's family. i am saddened by his death. He was one of 11 Druzinsky first cousins - descendants of Morris Barnett Druzinsky and Yetta Cohen and their five daughters and two sons. We grew up in St, Louis with strong ties to each other. We were proud of our cousin - a good musician. I am one of the three surviving cousins along with Eddie's sister Dorothy, and Phyllis Rader Long. Etta Bailin Brewer.

While at Ragdale, a fellow resident, Michael Druzinsky,
showed a video of his father and friends playing a score composed by Michael who talked about the work and his father. When finished his father and fellow musicians gave a roaring ovation. Very touching. I thought, "What talent. What love". My sincere condolences, Mary-Glynn Boies

Dear Robert,

I send my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I will always be grateful to your father for his kindness whenever I was playing with the CSO as a sub. He was always extremely inclusive and gracious. I can't begin to tell you how much that meant to me.

Every time someone from our class loses a parent, my heart aches. Your parents were gems in every way.

January 10, 2011

Dear Paul, Robin and I send our deepest sympathy to you and your brothers. Your dad was a prince, every year carrying - not even dragging - his harp into my second grade classroomand enchanting us all with his good humor and talent. His life was a bright light that still shines.

Dear Robert, Michael and Paul
I have so many fond memories of your father that it's hard to find a place to start. One of the best was when I was a student in Florence and the CSO came to tour. I went to the performance and Dorothy and Eddie were so surprised to see me and immediately invited me to join them for dinner. That warmth and generosity to a kid who was a little homesick completely epitomized your parents. My love to all of you.

We met in 1950 when we were both members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Several years later, Eddie moved on to the Detroit Symphony while I returned to Chicago where I eventually joined the Chicago Symphony. I was delighted when he became the Principal Harp with the Chicago Symphony where we renewed our friendship. He enjoyed becoming the renowned Harpist with the CSO.

He will be sorely missed by his many friends, colleagues and admirers. I extend my sincere condolences to his family in this difficult time for them.
