Edward Drozd Obituary

Drozd, Edward J. age 66, of Orland Park, died Friday, September 27, 2002, at his home. Survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara (nee Rasmussen), one son Edward S. (Rosemary) Drozd of Orland Park, two daughters Laura (Anthony) Trella of Manhattan and Karen Drozd of Chicago, one brother Richard (Karen) Drozd of Round Lake Beach, IL, six granddaughters Lauren, Kaitlin and Haley Drozd and Kristin, Emilee and Tyler Trella, preceded in death by his parents Edward and Helen (nee Vitart) Drozd. Ed owned and operated the General Store in Worth for 24 years. He was a member of St. Jude Church in New Lenox and active on the Church Building Committee and dedicated to the Men of Tolentine. He was also a member of the American Legion New Lenox Post #1977. He served his country as a Staff Sgt. in the U.S. Army. Ed loved his family, he loved his church, and he loved his country. Funeral services for Edward J. Drozd will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 1st from the Hickey Memorial Chapel, 422 E. Haven, New Lenox, to St. Jude Church, 233 W. 2nd Ave., New Lenox. 10:30 a.m. Mass. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery, Justice, IL. Memorials to the Augustinian Missions, St. Jude Building Fund or the Men of Tolentine would be most appreciated. Visitation Monday, 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visit Guest Book at www.suntimes.com
