Edward Beverly Obituary
He was born to the late Bickley and Leona Mae Thacker Beverly in Detroit on Jan. 20, 1946. Ed always had an encouraging word for everyone and never failed to tell a dying world how good God is. 2 Timothy 4:1-8
He fought a courageous battle with cancer and praised the Lord until his journey on earth ended.
Ed leaves behind to cherish his memories a brother, "Tings Man"; two sisters, Judy C. Walker and family and Marsha A. Beverly Williams; special brother-in-law, Ken; nephews, Timothy L. and Christopher W. Trent and their families; a host of relatives; and his many friends at Red Onion.
His words to everyone include: to love one another, carry on and be at peace in Christ Jesus and God bless everyone and I love everyone.
A celebration of his home going will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007, at the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel in Wise, with Rev. Jack Beverly officiating. Burial will follow in the Beverly Cemetery, Wise. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Sturgill Funeral Home in Wise.
Sturgill Funeral Homes, 1621 Norton Road SW, Wise, VA 24293, is in charge of arrangements.
