Robertson, Earle Bernard was born April 21, 1936, to the union of Bennette and Earle Van Buran Robertson, in Chicago, IL. He was the first of two children. Preceded in death by his father, Earle Van Buran Robertson and sister, Sandra Howard. Earle was a Veteran serving honorably in the U.S. Army. He worked on the Board of Education for many years. He later joined the University of Chicago. In 1971, in Public Service as a Police Officer and retired after 27 years of service. He loved his job and during his service he made many friends that were like his "other family". Earle received many letters of commendation for his service as a Police Officer. Earle was known to his friends and family by many nicknames such as Radio, Bongs, Curly and Robbie. He was a lifetime member of the Ida B. Wells 39ers Club. Earle answered his calling to the Lord on August 4, 2006. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2006, at 1 p.m., from Bethel Lutheran Church, 441 W. Montgomery St., Gary, IN. Services entrusted to: "The Caring Professionals" of Alpha Mortuary, 421 W. 5th Ave., Gary, IN, 219-882-8230.
