Earle Hanson Obituary

Earle B.Hanson 1927 ~ 2003  Earle Barney Hanson, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle, passed away July 19, 2003 surrounded by his family who love him. He died of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. He was born Jan 4, 1927 to Barney Hanson and Lillian Kopke Hanson in Arlington, NE. His family moved to Argyle, MN where he spent his teenage years. He married Verna Joyce Magnusson Aug 18, 1949 in Alma Lutheran Church, Argyle, MN. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater. Earle constructed grain elevators throughout the mid-west. He moved to SLC in 1958. He worked many years for the Oscar E. Chytraus Company and also worked as a concrete tester. During his retirement, he worked at Brashers Auto Auction. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and watching his grandsons play baseball. He made the best baked beans in the world and told wonderful stories. He is survived by his loving wife, Verna; sons, Bob (Chris) Hanson, Idaho Falls, Wayne (Lorena) Hanson, West Valley City; daughters, Barbara (Bill) Schaus, Oconomowoc, WI, Kathy (Mike) Sontum, Sandy, UT; grandchildren, Davin (Amy), Serina (Josh), Jorine (Scott), Meggin, Paul, Gayle, Kimberly, Robert, Jeremy, Nicholas, Daniel, Nathan; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Shai; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Edward, Gail. The family expresses special thanks to the staff of the RESCU and LDS Hospital. Memorial services, 11 a.m. Tues. July 22, 2003 Zion Lutheran Church, 1070 S. Foothill Dr, SLC, UT 84108. Interment, Veterans Memorial State Park. Directors, Evans & Early Mortuary, a Dignity Memorial Provider.
