Dorothy McMullen Obituary

McMullen, Dorothy R. L.

Dorothy R. L. McMullen of Chicago, IL passed away on November 4, 2023. She was born on April 20, 1945.

Dorothy was a dedicated educator. Graduating from Roosevelt University.

Dorothy had a passion for Route 66 and was honored for her contributions by being inducted into the Route 66 Association Hall of Fame in 2021. She cherished her time spent exploring and preserving the history of this iconic highway.

She is survived by her daughters, Terri Seratt (Erin Sharkey) and Jerri Esmay (Dean), as well as her sisters Susan Hanson, Donna Stroud (Tony), and her brother George Hanson (Tammy). She also left behind much loved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Al McMullen, her parents Dorothy Hanson and Ray Baker, Her four brothers (The Baker boys) Bob, Rich, Tom, and Jim. Her sister Cindy Hanson and her beloved son Nathan E. Seratt II.

Our talks everyday, watching Mike and Molly/and Andy Griffin, our Cubbies baseball games in AZ, and our gambling days were fun. Our Sunday lunches in Joliet and of course Holiday dinners.
