Dorothy Camilleri Obituary
Dorothy Drew Camilleri, 92, of Naperville IL, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 30, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Camilleri, with whom she shared 58 years, and the loving mother of Cathy Camilleri, Chris (Melissa) Camilleri, Andrea (Thomas) Bartlett, Paul (Jill) Camilleri, and the late Peter Camilleri and Caroline Camilleri. She was also the devoted grandmother to Deanna Fioccola and Caleb Camilleri. Dorothy had a long career as a psychiatric nurse, and spent most of her career at the UIC College of Nursing. A visitation for Dorothy will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 4-8 PM at Blake Lamb Funeral Home, 5015 Lincoln Ave, Lisle IL 60532, with a funeral service the next day, November 8, at 10 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Home Cemetery.

Oh this family meant so much to us. My dad worked with Joe and I had the pleasure of Dorothy coming to my home and when I was pregnant with my son she would give me a physical just to make sure all was going well.
We spent many meals with them and laughed so hard most of the time. All the kids were still in elementary school when I knew tham amd all of you have grown up and I know your parents are so proud of you.

Many years ago my daughter Jessica went to nursery school with Chris Camilleri. And thus, Dottie and later Joe, came into my life. She was a ray of warmth, vivid intelligence and great good humor at a time when I was hungry for those things. Her friendship was a treasure.

Dotti was a very influential person in my career. Not only was she one of my faculty members during graduate school, but she mentored me throughout my professional life. Who I am as a mental health nurse and nurse educator is directly related to her influence. She will continue to impact mental health nursing through the work of each of her students.
