Oden, Doris P. (nee Oberreutter), age 80, of Singer Island, FL, formerly of Chicago, at rest February 24, 2002. Beloved wife and best friend for 57 years of the late Joshua Oden Jr., M.D., loving mother of Pamela (James) Anderson, Patrice (Edmund) Noel and Joshua (Jan) Oden, proud grandmother of Melissa (Stephan) Wood, James Anderson, Edmund Noel, Banks Noel, Joshua Oden and Natalie Oden, dear great-grandmother of Christopher James Wood and Matthew Joshua Wood, sister of Paul Oberreutter and the late Verne Oleck, aunt of many. Born July 11, 1921, in Chicago to Elsie and Paul Oberreutter. She attended Northwestern University and was a member of Irving Park Lutheran Church. She was an active volunteer for the Augustana Hospital Women's Board, where her husband was a physician and served as publicity chairman on the Ice Follies Benefit Committee for many years. A memorial service will be held 11:30 a.m., on Saturday, March 2nd, at Irving Park Lutheran Church, 3938 W. Belle Plaine, Chicago, IL, 60618.
