Dear Paula and Thad,
I am sorry to hear Don has passed. I actually just heard today. My best memories about "Thad's Dad" are from the Twins Pizza. Larry and I would see you, Paula, and Don with a glass of wine, big smiles, and always a friendly hi.
Our deepest sympathy.

Paula, Sarah and Family: We were very sorry to hear that Don had passed away. He was a great person and we do remember that he always had a smile on his face. I am so sorry that I could not be there to pay my respects to you in person, but please know that all of you will remain in our thoughts and prayers. Also please cherish and hold the memories of him in your hearts forever to help ease the pain as time goes by. May his soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed rest in peace. May God Bless all of you. The Patterson Family

I went to college with Don at Southern Illinois University. Always knew he would excel at law enforcement. Will miss his smile and easy going way, although it has been many years since we spoke. God rest his soul.

Your grief may ebb and flow. It has been said that each of us has this well deep inside of us that can be filled to the brim with grief. Every time we cry, we empty out some of the well. But the well fills again. The level of sorrow in your well may lessen as time passes, but it will never run dry. There will always be birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and those days when the well seems to fill to its brim again. Allow yourself time to remember and mourn. It is part of your healing. Grief is a continuing journey.

Don, or as we liked to call him (Donnie or The Little Guy ) will be missed very much. We have know him for 22 years and he was like family. He was a good guy and the streets will not be the same without Donnie AKA The Little Guy. God Speed.
