Dominic Raso Obituary

Raso, Dominic age 76, of East Chicago, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 2, 2003, at his home. He is survived by wife of 48 years, Ann (nee Serna), his children, Dominic Raso (Dan Dubay) of Chicago and Jacqueline (Louis) Soto of Hammond, one granddaughter Jessica Soto, sister Jacqueline (Giosue) Raso of Guelph, Ontario, Canada, brother Anthony (Karen) Raso of Mississuaga, Ontario Canada, brothers-in-law Peter Serna and Adolph "Fito" (Marie) Serna, both of East Chicago, many beloved nieces and nephews, dearest friends Albert "Rosar" (Sally) Villareal, preceded in death by brothers Angelo and James Raso. Funeral services Monday, May 5, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. from the Fife Funeral Home, 4201 Indianapolis Blvd., East Chicago, Indiana. Mass 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Church, East Chicago, with Rev. Fernando DeCristobal, officiating. Burial Ridgelawn Cemetery, Gary, IN. Visitation will he beld at the Fife Funeral Home, Sunday, May 4th, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., American Legion Services 6:30 p.m. Prayer services 7:00 p.m. Dominic was owner/operator of Dominick's Bar and Grill, Block Ave. and Pennsylvania Ave., East Chicago, then moved to Main St. for over 49 years. He was famous for his Italian Beef "Torpedos" sandwiches. Member of the American Legion Post #369, formerly Post #266. He served in the Korean War. He was loved and will be dearly missed by all.
